- Wash the rice till the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 15 to 20 minutes. Keep aside.
- Heat ghee/oil in a cooking pan. Add the whole spices and saute them for 30 seconds.
- Add the green chillies and onions and saute till the onions are translucent.
- Add the ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw smell goes.
- Add tomatoes and salt and cook till the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
- Add the spice powders and saute for a minute.
